KABUL: At least 24 people were killed and more than 82 others injured after a powerful explosion struck near a railway track in Quetta, local authorities said.
According to reports, the blast occurred today (Sunday at 8:00 Am) in the capital of Balochistan. Local police confirmed the casualties and said the explosion derailed a freight train passing through the area.
Witnesses also reported hearing gunfire shortly after the explosion, raising concerns about a possible coordinated attack.
Security forces and emergency teams rushed to the scene, while investigations into the nature and cause of the blast are ongoing.
