MAIDAN SHAHR: Local authorities say that 12 traffic accidents during the Eid holidays left three people martyred and 15 others injured in Maidan Wardak province.
According to a statement from the Maidan Wardak police command, the accidents occurred in the province’s capital and several districts where children were among the fatalities and injured.
Officials noted that similar traffic accidents during the Eid holidays in other provinces across Afghanistan have resulted in hundreds of casualties.
The Islamic Emirate officials have repeatedly urged drivers to exercise caution during travel and prioritize the safety of passengers.
The main cause of the traffic accidents in Afghanistan is reckless driving, speeding, and failure to follow traffic regulations, according to officials.
