KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs says 50 people have been arrested on charges of sale, use, and trafficking of narcotics during operations conducted across multiple provinces.
According to the ministry’s anti-narcotics department, the operations were carried out in Nangarhar, Farah, Jawzjan, Balkh, Kandahar, Khost, Baghlan, Kunar, Kapisa, Samangan, and Nimroz provinces.
Authorities said the seized items included 7 kilograms of opium, 3 kilograms of hashish, a quantity of methamphetamine, 6 liters of alcoholic beverages, and 1,369 narcotic tablets.
Officials added that efforts to combat the production, trafficking, and use of illegal drugs are continuing across the country.
