Over 500 Afghan families return in one day, 753 families receive residential land plots

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues said in a statement that 517 Afghan refugee families, comprising 2,797 individuals, returned to the country through various border crossings in a single day.

The families entered Afghanistan via the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Silk Bridge, and Islam Qala border crossings, said the statement, adding that the returnees received essential services, including registration, transportation assistance, financial aid, healthcare services, and public awareness support.

In addition, 1,018 families with a total of 5,722 members were transported to different provinces across the country, while hundreds of families received cash assistance.

According to the statement, 753 returning families were allocated residential land plots in the provinces of Nangarhar, Faryab, Farah, and Helmand.

According to official figures, the total number of residential plots distributed to returning refugees nationwide has now reached 37,713, with the resettlement process continuing.
