KHOST: A powerful storm and heavy rainfall that struck Khost province on Sunday left five people injured and caused significant property damage across the province.
According to Mustaghfar Gurbaz, the storm damaged 16 vehicles, 40 shops, three residential houses, approximately 200 jeribs of orchards, and around 780 solar power units.
He added that transmission towers, solar equipment, frames, technical devices, and parts of the offices of local media outlets, including Khushtala Radio and Iqra Radio, were also affected.
Officials said the provincial leadership has instructed relevant agencies to complete damage assessments in the affected areas and provide emergency assistance to impacted families once data collection is finalized.
Authorities are continuing to evaluate the full extent of the losses caused by the severe weather.
