Identities of Afghan migrants burned alive in Italy revealed

KABUL: Four Afghan migrants who were burned alive in a vehicle during a deadly incident in the town of Amendolara earlier this week, Italian media confirmed.

According to reports, the victims were identified as 29-year-old Wasim Khan, 28-year-old Fazal, 27-year-old Safi, and 19-year-old Ismat. Reports also stated that a Pakistani national was killed in the incident.

Authorities said a 35-year-old Afghan migrant managed to escape from the vehicle but sustained injuries.

Italian media reported that two Pakistani nationals, identified as Safir Ahmad and Ali Raza, have been arrested in connection with the case and are currently under investigation.

According to the reports, the victims had been working alongside the suspects in agricultural labor. Investigators are examining claims that a dispute over higher wages may have been a possible motive behind the incident.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has condemned the attack and called for a comprehensive investigation into the case.

Authorities in Italy continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killings.
