KABUL: The European Union has appointed Italian diplomat Nicola Bellomo as its new Chargé d’Affaires for Afghanistan.
Bellomo currently heads the European Union’s Africa Division and previously served as the EU Ambassador to Rwanda.
According to reports, his appointment will be finalized following approval by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the completion of the necessary administrative procedures.
The move is viewed as an important step in maintaining diplomatic engagement and coordination between Afghanistan and the European Union.
