KABUL: The country’s Minister of Finance, Mullah Mohammad Naser Akhund, says the country’s tax system is among the simplest in the region.
Speaking at a government media briefing on newly announced tax discounts, Akhund said the Islamic Emirate has fully or partially exempted taxes on 13 categories over the past five years.
The finance minister also announced additional tax reductions and incentives, urging traders and investors to contact the Ministry of Finance or the relevant authorities if they encounter any tax-related difficulties.
He said the measures are aimed at simplifying the tax system, supporting businesses, and encouraging investment in Afghanistan.
