KABUL: Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Oybek Usmanov, in a meeting with the Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, strengthening trade and economic relations, and increasing investment in Afghanistan’s mining sector.
According to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Ambassador Usmanov praised the Islamic Emirate’s achievements across various sectors and expressed the interest of Uzbek investors in investing in Afghanistan’s mining industry.
The ministry said the ambassador also presented his views and proposals on addressing existing challenges related to the Toti Maidan project.
Minister Badri reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to attracting, supporting, and encouraging foreign investors, assuring the Uzbek side that comprehensive cooperation and additional investment facilitation measures would be provided.
