KABUL: Afghanistan’s National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) has announced the signing of a joint cooperation agreement with the Environmental Protection, Training and Development Organization (EPTDO) for a project valued at more than $150,000.
According to a statement issued by the agency, the project has a total value of $162,000 and will be implemented over three years in several provinces across Afghanistan, focusing on climate change and environmental protection.
Based on the project, 200 community-based organizations in Kabul and Nangarhar provinces will be assessed, with 45 organizations selected to receive training programs on climate change adaptation and environmental conservation.
The agency added that the initiative also includes the establishment and support of volunteer environmental protection groups in five provinces, which will form a key component of the project.
