KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs has said that a man accused of leading a criminal gang involved in theft and drug trafficking has been arrested in Khost province.
According to a ministry statement, the suspect was arrested during a targeted operation in the Nadir Shah Kot district of Khost.
The ministry said security forces recovered 30 smartphones and basic mobile phones, 12 handguns, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, several magazines, 12 hand grenades, a quantity of narcotics, and a large cache of military ammunition from the suspect.
The Ministry of Interior added that the suspect has confessed to his crimes and his case will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further investigation.
