KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, accompanied by members of the Commission for Organizational Structure and Salaries, visited Bagram Prison to assess its overall conditions and meet with a number of inmates.
According to a statement issued by the Presidential Palace (Arg), Mawlavi Hanafi and his accompanying delegation inspected various sections of the prison, reviewing inmates’ living conditions, healthcare services, food distribution, detention facilities, and the handling of prisoners’ concerns.
The statement added that Mawlavi Hanafi listened to the inmates’ requests and instructed prison officials to fully uphold prisoners’ rights in accordance with Islamic law, improve detention conditions, strengthen healthcare services, and give serious attention to resolving their problems.
Bagram Prison officials assured the delegation that they would continue efforts to address existing challenges and improve services for inmates.
