KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said that 880 Afghan migrants were released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan during the past week.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said the returnees entered the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings after being released from Pakistani detention facilities.
According to the statement, 713 people returned via Torkham, while 168 others entered through Spin Boldak.
The ministry said the group included both families and individual returnees who had been provided with the necessary assistance before being transported to their home areas.
The ministry also called on international organizations to continue supporting Afghan migrants, facilitate their return, and help ensure safe and dignified conditions for returnees.
