KABUL: At least one person was martyred, three others were injured, and dozens of homes and public facilities were damaged after heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in Jalalabad city and the Momand Dara and Shinwari districts of eastern Nangarhar province.
The Provincial Directorate of Disaster Management Authority said that in the Daman area of Jalalabad’s Eighth District, 13 houses were completely destroyed, while another 50 sustained partial damage.
In the Hazar Naw area of Momand Dara district, 20 houses, shops, and several public facilities were also damaged by the flooding.
Officials said damage assessment teams have begun surveying the affected areas, and emergency assistance will be provided to the affected families.
