KABUL: Afghanistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the state-owned Afghan Post company to strengthen coordination in humanitarian assistance and emergency response.
According to a statement from the NDMA, the agreement was signed during a meeting between Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, head of the NDMA, and Mawlavi Rahmatullah Makki, Director General of Afghan Post.
Turabi called the agreement an important step toward improving coordination among government institutions, enhancing the delivery of humanitarian aid, and increasing the effectiveness of relief operations.
Based on the agreement, Afghan Post’s nationwide network, logistics infrastructure, and operational capacity will be used to transport humanitarian aid and emergency supplies to provinces and disaster-affected areas, ensuring deliveries are carried out safely, efficiently, and on time. The partnership is also expected to strengthen and accelerate responses to natural disasters.
Makki reaffirmed Afghan Post’s full commitment to implementing the agreement, saying the company would use its extensive postal network, logistical resources, and technical capabilities to facilitate and ensure the rapid, secure, and standardized delivery of relief assistance and emergency equipment across the country.
