KABUL: UAE-based pharmaceutical company Julphar has resumed exports of medicines to Afghanistan.
The company first entered the Afghan market in 2003 but suspended its exports and operations in the country in 2018.
Julphar has now signed an $87 million distribution and cooperation agreement with an Afghan pharmaceutical company.
Under the agreement, Julphar will supply its medicines to the Afghan market while also supporting efforts to strengthen healthcare services and develop the country’s healthcare sector.
The resumption of Julphar’s operations is expected to improve access to medicines in Afghanistan and enhance pharmaceutical cooperation between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates.
