KABUL: Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, says Afghanistan, after years of war and insecurity, now enjoys stability and peace and needs greater investment in its healthcare sector than ever before.
Speaking at the launch ceremony of the Ministry of Public Health’s five-year strategic plan, Hanafi said that implementing the strategy could play a vital role in strengthening the country’s healthcare system.
Highlighting the condition of Afghanistan’s medical infrastructure, he stated that not a single MRI machine was added to the country’s hospitals during the past 20 years.
He stressed that improving the quality of healthcare services requires serious attention to the sector, including the provision of advanced medical equipment and addressing the growing healthcare needs of the Afghan people.
