IEA calls for preventing war escalation between Israel and Iran

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in a statement called for the prevention of the expansion of the war between Israel and Iran.

“The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan calls on all influential world and regional states to expedite their efforts of halting the crimes of the Zionist regime in order to prevent further escalation of the crisis,” spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdul Qahar Balkhi said on his X platform on Sunday.

The statement further said “The Zionist regime, in continuation of their crimes and in contravention of all diplomatic norms and international laws, targeted the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Syrian Capital, Damascus, on the 1st of April, 2024, in response to which the Islamic Republic of Iran exercised its legitimate right to self-defense last night (14th April, 2024)”.

The ministry further added that the occupying regime of Israel has been carrying out genocide in Gaza by violating the airspace of other countries since last October.

Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Zionist Israel faced global reaction and Western countries’ condemnations.

Some media outlets, citing U.S. officials, reported that Joe Biden has warned Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. will not support any retaliatory attack by Israel on Iran.
