KABUL: The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, said in a statement that 65,154 returning migrant families have so far received residential land plots under the country’s permanent resettlement and land distribution program.
According to the ministry, the Committee for the Permanent Settlement of Returnees and Land Distribution, led by the ministry, allocated residential plots to 1,163 returning families across five provinces on Monday.
The ministry said that 693 families in Nangarhar, 108 in Paktika, 112 in Nimroz, 150 in Faryab, and 100 in Bamyan received residential land during the latest phase of the program.
The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said the land distribution initiative will continue to facilitate the permanent resettlement of returning migrants, strengthen social stability, and support their economic well-being.
Officials added that the program is being implemented systematically nationwide to help returning families rebuild their lives in suitable living environments.
