KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation says 325 Afghan migrants were released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan during the past week.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry said the returnees entered the country through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings after being released from Pakistani custody.
According to the ministry, 156 people returned through Torkham, 169 others crossed into Afghanistan via Spin Boldak, including both families and individuals who had been detained for lacking legal documentation and had spent varying periods in prison.
It added that the returnees were provided with assistance before being transported to their home areas.
The ministry also called on international organizations to continue supporting Afghan migrants, facilitating their return, and helping ensure safe and dignified reintegration into the country.
