KABUL: The country’s security forces seized a large amount of foreign currency during the inspection of a passenger vehicle at the Hairatan border crossing.
According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the money had been concealed inside the vehicle and was discovered during a routine search.
The seized currencies included €343,725, US$20,480, C$78,585, A$59,900, NZ$14,750, £313,050, 42,550 Swiss francs, and 600,000 Saudi riyals.
The ministry said the funds were allegedly being smuggled illegally and have been handed over to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.
