KABUL: Kazakhstan has experienced a significant increase in wheat flour exports during 2025–2026, with Afghanistan playing a major role in driving the country’s growing exports.
According to The Times of Central Asia, Kazakhstan exported around 1.87 million tons of wheat flour during the first 10 months of the current year, representing an 18.3 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
The report estimates that Kazakhstan’s flour exports could reach approximately 2.12 million tons this year.
Kazakhstan exported around 1.88 million tons of wheat flour in 2024, making it the world’s second-largest flour exporter by volume after Turkey.
Afghanistan is Kazakhstan’s largest flour market. In 2024, Afghanistan imported approximately 1.23 million tons of Kazakh flour, accounting for nearly two-thirds of Kazakhstan’s total flour exports.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s flour exports to Afghanistan increased by 21.5 percent during the first 10 months of the current year.
From September 2025 to July 30, 2026, Kazakhstan exported a total of 13.9 million tons of grain and flour, marking a 12.6 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
