Deadly factory fire in Saudi Arabia claims lives of 16 Bangladeshi workers

KABUL: Sixteen Bangladeshi workers have died in a fire at a furniture manufacturing factory in the Musa Saniah industrial area of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The Bangladeshi Embassy said the incident occurred in one of the capital’s industrial areas and that coordination is underway with Saudi authorities to repatriate the victims’ bodies.

The Bangladeshi government has instructed relevant authorities to expedite the process of transferring the bodies and provide necessary assistance to the victims’ families.

According to available information, around 3.5 million Bangladeshi nationals live and work in Saudi Arabia across various sectors.
