KABUL: Officials from the Russian company Power Machines have expressed the company’s readiness and interest in investing in the comprehensive rebuilding, modernization of equipment, and expansion of Afghanistan’s power generation capacity.
The company’s representatives made the remarks during a meeting with Mawlavi Abdul Haq Hamkar, Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), where the two sides discussed investment opportunities and initial technical assessments of the country’s existing power plants.
Officials from Power Machines said that after conducting technical inspections and assessments, the company would submit proposals for rehabilitating the plants, modernizing their equipment and increasing their electricity-generation capacity.
DABS also emphasized the importance of attracting investment and utilizing the expertise of specialized foreign companies to develop Afghanistan’s electricity-generation infrastructure.
The discussions come as increasing domestic power-generation capacity and modernizing existing power plants remain key priorities for Afghanistan’s energy sector.
