KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs has announced that two welfare projects at Ai Khanoum Port in Dasht-e-Qala district of Takhar province have been completed and put into operation at a cost of more than 27 million Afghanis.
According to the ministry, the projects, which include a new fire station, perimeter wall, and security towers, have been officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Mawlavi Fazlur Rahman Haqqani, head of facilities at the ministry’s General Directorate of Construction, and his delegation.
The ministry said the new facilities are aimed at strengthening security infrastructure, expanding firefighting and other service capacities, protecting government facilities, and providing a safer environment for commercial and economic activities at Ai Khanoum Port.
Meanwhile, officials in Herat province have announced that 19 firefighting vehicles worth $2 million have been purchased for the Herat Industrial Park and have begun operating.
According to provincial officials, the vehicles were purchased by private traders and allocated to the industrial park. They are equipped with trained professional staff and are capable of responding rapidly to fires and other emergencies in the industrial area.
