KABUL: The third meeting of the mechanisms related to humanitarian aid and economic restoration was held under the leadership of the relevant diplomatic missions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the People’s Republic of China.
In the meeting, in addition to both countries’ diplomats, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mines and Petroleum, Refugees and Repatriations and the Ministry of Natural Disasters of the Islamic Emirate from the Afghanistan side and representatives of Business, Natural Resources, International Development Agency and International Cooperation Agencies from China side have participated.
The past two and a half years’ humanitarian aid mechanism, China’s assistance in natural disasters, resettlement of forced returnees and health were reviewed by the participants.
The Afghan delegation has shared their suggestions and recommendations with the Chinese delegation in order to make China’s assistance more effective.
The Chinese side assured that China’s humanitarian aid to Afghanistan will be organized based on needs and priorities of the Afghans.
They [Chinese side] also promised to consider the Afghan side’s proposals regarding China’s aid of 100 million Yuan (Some 13,810,000 US Dollars) for the resettlement of forced migrants in Afghanistan.
Also, the Chinese Red Cross Society assured to pave the ground to resume the treatment of Afghan Children with heart diseases in China.
Also, the two sides discussed enhancing bilateral trade, mining extraction, exports and imports between the two countries.
