KABUL: Flash floods triggered by heavy rains struck the Ashwo village in Wama district of Nuristan province late Tuesday evening, resulting in damage to four houses and other casualties, officials confirmed.
Mohammad Hassan Saqib, spokesperson for the Nuristan police command, said the bodies of one child and two women have so far been recovered, while search efforts are continuing to locate others.
Local officials also said a lightning strike hit the Chaturas highland area of Parun city, injuring two people and killing 22 livestock.
