KABUL: The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, speaking about the Ukraine war in an interview with the Russian National Radio on Friday said that Moscow prioritizes dialogue and negotiations over confrontation
He has ruled out any talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for various reasons.
This Russian diplomat added that if the West is willing to engage in dialogue, they should set aside the conditions set by President Zelensky.
He added that Zelensky’s conditions included Russia’s surrendering of Ukraine, withdrawal to the borders of 1991, prosecution of leadership, payment of compensation, and placement of weapons within a 200-kilometer zone from the front line.
The statements by the Russian Foreign Minister come at a time when the Ukraine Peace Conference is scheduled to be held in Switzerland in June of the current year.
