KABUL: Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid said that Kabul Municipality has built and reconstructed 121 kilometers of main and secondary roads across different parts of the capital over the past year.
According to Radio Omid, he made the remarks during the “Government in the Mirror of the Press” program, saying that the road projects included asphalt paving, concrete work, stone paving, road expansion, and the construction of new roads.
A total of 94,550 square meters of roads were also repaired during the past year.
Mujahid added that work has been completed on drainage channels in Districts 2, 4, 9 and 12 of Kabul, as part of a program covering 7,472 meters of channels.
He also said the underground Pul-e Kheshti market, comprising 360 shops, has been completed and put into operation, and six parks have been built or rehabilitated in different parts of Kabul.
According to Mujahid, construction is also underway on a vehicle underpass in the Baraki area and pedestrian overpasses along Salang Road and near the Minar-e-Nijat area.
