KABUL: Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Kabul police command, has criticized Pakistan’s decision to expel Afghan medical students in their final year of study, describing the move as “retaliatory and cruel.”
In a post on X, Zadran said that despite the war between the United States and Iran, Iranian students had not been expelled from U.S. universities, but Pakistan’s decision comes while the students are in the final year of their studies.
Zadran criticized Pakistan’s move, saying that expelling Afghan students under such circumstances was “retaliatory and cruel.”
He added that such behavior was not a sign of strength and could disrupt the academic futures of students who had spent years working to complete their education.
The remarks come as the expulsion of Afghan migrants and students from Pakistan has drawn widespread reactions in recent months.
