KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Public Health said that more than 11 metric tons of smuggled medicines and 350 kilograms of illegal food products have been destroyed in the Rig area of Helmand province.
According to the statement, the Helmand Provincial Public Health Directorate collected the medicines and food products over the past three weeks.
The items were destroyed in the presence of representatives from relevant institutions and based on a ruling by the Helmand court, the statement said.
Previously, dozens of tons of various medicines and other illegal and smuggled goods had also been collected and destroyed in Helmand province.
