KABUL: Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, says nearly 16 million fruit and non-fruit saplings were planted across Afghanistan during the 1447 Lunar year.
Radio Omid reported that Mujahid made the remarks during the “Government in the Mirror of the Media” program.
According to Mujahid, the environmental impacts of 1,771 development and industrial projects were assessed during the period.
Authorities also issued 1,619 environmental permits and monitored more than 25,000 potentially polluting activities.
Mujahid also said 568 environmental awareness programs were held and that the country’s climate change strategy was finalized.
