250 Afghan migrant families return home in single day

KABUL: The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues says 250 Afghan migrant families, comprising 1,083 people, returned to Afghanistan and were registered through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Silk Bridge and Islam Qala crossings in a single day.

According to the commission, 99 families, comprising 515 people, were transported to various provinces, while 104 families received financial assistance.

The commission said 112 SIM cards were also distributed to the returning migrants.

Returning migrants were also provided with healthcare, food assistance and awareness services, the commission added.
