Training seminar held for hundreds of journalists and media workers in Faryab

KABUL: The Ministry of Information and Culture said in a statement that its Deputy Ministry of Publications held a one-day seminar in Faryab province for hundreds of journalists, media officials, writers, academics and young people.

The seminar, titled “Enhancing Intellectual, Ideological and Professional Capacity,” was attended by Muhajir Farahi, deputy minister for publications, several ministry officials, local authorities and university professors, according to a ministry statement.

Officials at the seminar emphasized the need to observe professional standards, ensure accuracy in preparing and publishing news, verify information and strengthen the role of the media in raising public awareness.

Farahi called on government officials and spokespersons to fully cooperate with media outlets and facilitate journalists’ access to information.

At the end of the seminar, a representative of Faryab’s journalists called for greater attention to the challenges facing media outlets and journalists and urged authorities to continue holding similar training programs.
