KABUL: Zhao Xing, China’s ambassador to Afghanistan, held a farewell meeting with Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Islamic Emirate’s Minister of Interior Affairs, as he concludes his diplomatic mission in the country.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement that Haqqani described Zhao’s tenure in Afghanistan as effective and positively assessed his efforts to strengthen relations between Afghanistan and China.
Zhao, for his part, described the historical ties between Afghanistan and China as important and expressed hope that relations and cooperation between the two countries would continue to expand in the future.
