Indian factories to share standard product lists with Afghanistan

KABUL: Indian manufacturers will share complete lists of their products with Afghanistan to help Afghan authorities assess the country’s needs and facilitate the procurement of quality, standards-compliant products at affordable prices, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health said.

Mawlavi Hamdullah Zahid, deputy minister for food and medicine at the Ministry of Public Health, and his delegation visited several factories producing medical equipment, food products and raw materials for medical supplies during an official visit to India’s Gujarat state.

The ministry said in a statement that the Afghan delegation reviewed the factories’ production processes, technical capacities, technologies and product quality standards during the visits.

The two sides also discussed expanding trade relations and ensuring the supply of quality products to Afghanistan, the statement said.

The Afghan delegation also invited representatives of the factories to visit Afghanistan as part of efforts to transfer technical experience and technology and support the development of domestic medical equipment production.
