KABUL: Security sources in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province say armed men attacked a Pakistani police checkpoint near the main gate of a court complex in the city of Kohat.
Police said no one was injured in the attack, but the police checkpoint was damaged.
Meanwhile, all government offices and courts near the police headquarters have been closed, and a state of emergency has been declared in the city.
Police said heightened security measures have been put in place at all entry and exit points of the city, while thorough searches are continuing.
The incident came a day after a deadly attack on a mosque at the Kohat police headquarters during Friday prayers.
According to the latest reports, at least 21 people were killed and 103 others injured in that attack.
