KABUL: The CEO of Afghanistan’s State Water Supply and Sewerage Corporation, Mawlavi Ghulam Rahman Kazim, and his accompanying delegation met with senior officials of India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to discuss expanding cooperation in urban wastewater management and treatment.
The corporation said Indian officials provided information on urban wastewater systems, their management and development programs, and also briefed the Afghan delegation on the AMRUT project.
The Indian officials said they would provide the necessary cooperation to Afghanistan in areas including the construction of wastewater treatment facilities, particularly pond-based systems, as well as strengthening the professional and technical capacities of Afghan staff.
Kazim also emphasized the importance of sharing professional experience and knowledge, enhancing staff capacity, and benefiting from India’s experience in the construction and development of wastewater treatment facilities.
