KABUL: The spokesman for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, says the production, trafficking and use of all types of narcotics are strictly prohibited in Afghanistan.
Balkhi said in a statement that following the ban on narcotics in Afghanistan, the cultivation, production and trafficking of such substances have increased significantly on the other side of the Durand Line.
He added that Afghanistan has not only banned narcotics but also lacks the capacity to produce synthetic drugs. Balkhi further said that for nearly a year, all crossing points along the Durand Line have remained closed to all forms of movement.
The Islamic Emirate has called on the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad to investigate the source of seized narcotics in the host country and not use such cases as a means of propaganda against others.
