KABUL: Italian diplomat Nicola Bellomo has begun his duties as the European Union’s new chargé d’affaires in Afghanistan.
Bellomo previously served as head of the EU’s Africa affairs division and as the bloc’s ambassador to Rwanda.
The European Union has a representative in Afghanistan to engage on a range of political, humanitarian and development issues.
