China strives to improve Afghanistan economy through investment in various fields

KABUL: The acting Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Mateqi, in a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Zhoa Xing, here in his office said that recent regional developments necessitate that Afghanistan and China continue their coordination and cooperation, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson for the Ministry said in a statement today.

The two sides, in the meeting, discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in political, economic and cultural affairs, according to the statement.

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi called exports of pomegranates and almonds from Afghanistan to China and Beijing’s investments in the Mess Aynak (copper mine), Wakhan Corridor and other areas as live policies of the Islamic Emirate.

Meanwhile, the  Chinese Ambassador evaluated Afghanistan’s progress in various sectors positively and steadily.

“China is striving to play its role in improving the country’s economy through the investment of Chinese investors in Afghanistan,” he reiterated.
