KABUL: Thousands of supporters of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan have begun a long march toward the capital, Islamabad, demanding his release.
Al Jazeera reported that thousands of supporters of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party gathered in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and began traveling toward Islamabad.
The march began after talks between the government and Khan’s supporters aimed at preventing the protests ended without an agreement.
Khan’s supporters are demanding his immediate release.
