KABUL: Afghanistan and Iran have discussed expanding industrial cooperation and increasing bilateral trade to $10 billion, the Islamic Emirate Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a statement.
Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi held talks with an Iranian parliamentary delegation on implementing joint industrial programs, establishing a dedicated industrial park in Afghanistan and expanding cooperation through Iran’s Chabahar Port.
The ministry said the meeting also covered plans to establish an oil products refinery and increase bilateral trade between Afghanistan and Iran to $10 billion.
Azizi said suitable conditions have been created for industrial activities in Afghanistan and that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce supports investment and industrial development in the country.
