KABUL: Thomas Niklasson, the European Union’s former Special Representative for Afghanistan, has said that Thomas Frellesen was appointed as the EU’s new special representative for Afghanistan this week.
In a post on his X account, Niklasson wrote that Frellesen’s mandate is to continue the European Union’s support for the Afghan people and pursue dialogue with the United Nations and other key partners.
According to Niklasson, the EU’s new special representative will also continue principled engagement with Afghanistan in line with the decisions of the Council of the European Union.
