Trump calls on Ukraine to hold Presidential Elections

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine to hold presidential elections and choose a new leader who could bring an end to the war with Russia.
Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of deliberately prolonging the war and ignoring U.S. requests to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries.
His remarks came after Zelenskyy criticized Washington’s decision to suspend sanctions on Russian diesel exports, describing the move as “a sign of weakness and a gift to Vladimir Putin.”
Several of Ukraine’s European allies have also echoed Zelenskyy’s criticism of the U.S. decision.
Trump, however, has defended the move, saying it would help bring down diesel prices, which have risen sharply since the start of the war with Iran.
