KABUL: Murad Artikow, head of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan power project administration, says the completion of the Kerki–Kabul transmission line will enable Turkmenistan to supply up to 800 megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan.
Speaking at the Turkmenistan International Oil and Gas Conference 2026, Artikow said work on the Sheberghan–Dasht-e Alwan section is expected to be completed in the coming months, while the Dasht-e Alwan–Arghandi section is scheduled to become operational in June 2027. The project is intended to increase electricity exports from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and help meet Kabul’s growing demand for electricity.
