ASTANA: In the ongoing Asian Youth Boxing Championships, Qais Alizada, an Afghan Boxer, defeated his Kazakhstan opponent last night in Astana city of that country and secured the runner-up position for Afghanistan.
This remarkable and exciting match was held in the 80-kilogram weight category.
After nearly two decades, Qais Alizada by winning the silver medal at the Asian Youth Boxing Championships, made Afghanistan the runner-up.
Earlier, in the semi-final round of the competitions, Alizada defeated his Indian opponent and made his way to the final match.
Meanwhile, the athletes of the Boxing Federation, including Mr. Alizada, will participate in the Paris Olympic Games.
