UN Secretary-General’s condolences message to flood-affected families in Baghlan

KABUL: Following the devastating and deadly floods in Baghlan province, Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has expressed condolences to the affected families.

The UN Secretary-General spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated that the organization is coordinating with the Islamic Emirate to assist the flood victims.

“The United Nations has expressed solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, particularly the families of the victims,” he said.

The World Food Programme (WFP) in its recent report said that 300 people have been killed and wounded and around one thousand residential houses washed out.

The UN Secretary-General has expressed deep sorrow over the deadly flash floods in Baghlan province and extended his sympathy and condolences to the affected families.

The spokesperson for Antonio Guterres stated that the United Nations is coordinating with the Islamic Emirate to expedite urgent assistance to the flood-affected people.
