KABUL: The personnel of the Omar Salis 219th Army Corps of Ministry of National Defense have destroyed 5,000 acres of land, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the statement, the poppy lands have been reidicated as a result of the operations conducted by the country’s defense forces in the Argo and Darayim districts of Badakhshan province.
The personnel of the national army will continue the process of destroying the poppy fields until their complete eradication, said the statement.
The operation to destroy the poppy fields in Badakhshan province began several weeks ago.
