KABUL: The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, and his accompanying delegation during his trip to the Republic of Tatarstan, met with Alexey Overchuk, Russian Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation, Head of Railway Sergey Pavlov, and Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, the ministry said in a statement the other day.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed Afghanistan’s mines and water dams, increasing the bilateral trade balance, preferential tariffs for Afghan goods, and Afghanistan’s share in the North-South international transport corridor.
The Afghan and Russian officials agreed on the transfer of Afghan traders’ goods through the Russian railway, the removal of export taxes on raw materials, the coordination of the Afghan delegation’s visit and meetings at the “Astrakhan and Makhachkala” ports, the organization of an exhibition of domestic products in Moscow, and the launch of a trade connectivity conference, said the statement.
The Islamic Emirate delegation on the sideline of the Russian-Islamic World Economic Forum also had fruitful meetings with various officials of Russia, Tatar, and officials of some other countries.
